Remarks

Photinia are evergreen shrubs of East Asian origin. serrula (synonym serratifolia) is a species with serrated leaves, with a stronger growth than the fraseri (can become a small tree). CRUNCHY® 'Rev100' is not sensitive to powdery mildew.

Serrulated Photinia is a Taiwanese species, vigorous, with stronger branches but less branched than Photinia x fraseri hybrids, and large, leathery, serrated leaves. CRUNCHY® 'Rev100' is a recent selection of Ets Jean-Pierre Fauré (Revel, near Toulouse, France), with young coppery leaves becoming chocolate brown then dark green in summer. Flowering takes place in spring, in large corymbs of white melliferous flowers, followed by small bright pink berries.
