:: Hydrangeaceae :: PHILADELPHUS :: x lemoinei (coronarius x microphyllus) :: 'Silberregen' (syn. 'Silver Showers')
  • Type of products available: 0/1/1 BR

Main asset

A surprising scent of wild strawberry, on a plant of small development, strong and hardy, easy to maintain even on limestone soil.

Remarks

Every 2-3 years, just after flowering (July), prune the shrub below the floriferous parts to cause vigorous growth of new branches, which will give the flowers the following year.

The lemoinei hybrids were first obtained by Victor Lemoine (Nancy). 'Silberregen' is a German selection (circa 1950) of the lemoinei group, compact and rounded, about 1.50 m high. At the beginning of summer, it presents loose bunches of large single-flowered white flowers with 4 petals (sometimes 5), with strawberry scent.
