Main asset

Sterile peripheral flowers very broad, very beautiful dark blue in adequate soil conditions ('Blaumeise' = Blue Tit in German).

Remarks

The color of the flowers is very dependent on the pH and the composition of the soil. The more the soil is acidic and in the presence of aluminum (sulphate of alumina, shale), the more the flowers will be bluish.

Recent selection (1979) of the Wädenswil Research Station (Switzerland), medium development, with flat inflorescences (Lacecap Teller serie) royal blue in acid soil (mauves in basic soil), appearing on the wood of the previous year.
