Remarks

Difficult to form well in crop, pinch by warm weather to ramify. Almonds are edible.

Evergreen shrub or small tree native from the Mediterranean regions. The compound foliage, gray-green, becomes purple by cold weather. The tree is dioecious (♀ and ♂ on different plants). In spring, clusters of small red apetalous flowers appear between March and June and are followed by red then black berries on the ♀ plants.
