An unusual decorative bark throughout the year, particularly on trees grown in clump.
Remarks
Prune the tree preferably in clump, clear basal foliage to make the bark visible.
Small Chinese deciduous tree with arching branches, grown for its chlorophyll green white-streaked bark, decorative throughout the year. The deciduous, dark green leaves turning yellow-orange in autumn.
It was discovered in China in 1879 by Father David, a French missionary of the late nineteenth century.
