Main asset

Hardy and easy plants of medium growth, Hawthorns are useful for the auxiliary fauna, usable in shrubby form in wild or defensive hedges, and in small trees in alignments or for small gardens.

Remarks

Blossoms in spring and sometimes a second time in autumn.

Thorn producing large simple scarlet flowers with white eye, grouped in corymbs. Hybrid between 'Charles X' and 'Paul's Scarlet', its habit is clearly less upright than that of this later form. On the contrary, its swaying habit and its "weeping head" give it a flexible and rounded appearance.
