Ornamental tree all year round : winter with its golden wood, from spring to summer with its large palmate leaves with balsamic flavors, and all the autumn by its colors of fire.
Remarks
Very ornamental tree, the most beautiful autumn colors in acid or neutral light soil. Prune slighly if necessary in late winter to rebalance its beautiful pyramid shape.
This Liquidambar is interesting for several reasons:
- its young wood is golden yellow
- its leaves remain on the tree for a long time in autumn (often the leaves only red in December and fall until January), according to the minimum temperatures encountered
- its shape is rather dense, pyramidal, and its development more reduced than type.
