Main asset

Beautiful bark color on old subjects, resin smell in wet or warm weather, fast growth, very hardy, strong species.

Remarks

Susceptible to the processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa), trapping control to be organized preventively.

Large evergreen conifer native to Europe and Asia, cone shaped widening with age, forming an open trunk and a sparse foliage. Its needles are fasciculate by 2, 4-7 cm, bluish green. The bark, gray-green on the young branches, becomes ocher-red on the trunk, cracked.
