  • Type of products available: 0/1/0A7, 0/1/1P9

Main asset

Dark purple colored spikes, 3 to 4 cm high, appear in May-June, with 2 short sterile petals (about 1 cm) purple. The floral stems are quite long, giving a light and changing air to the flowers agitated by the wind.

Remarks

Prune very short after flowering (June), above the 3-4 lowest green shoots on the branches but never back to the old wood, to keep a harmonious shape. With this pruning once a year, French Lavender can live 10-12 years.

Toped Lavender, found in nature on draining siliceous soils around the Mediterranean sea, is distinguished from other French Lavenders with its longer floral stems, its spikes surmounted by 2 bracts, and its aromatic foliage with a very pronounced camphor smell.
