Main asset

One of the most cultivated Loropetalum because of its erect habit, and beautiful between its bright pink flowers and its brilliant purple almost black foliage. Flowering, at the end of winter, attracts bees.

Remarks

Loropetalum require acid soil, very draining, fertile, and a location not too exposed and protected from cold winds. They give also excellent results in pots, where they are easy to keep well dense and in good health.

Globe Planter

Loropetalum are small shrubs not very common, with small elliptic evergreen leaves, often softly spreading shape, and an original Hamamelis-shaped bloom in late winter and spring. 'Black Pearl' is a recent breeding of Ronald Roos Nurseries (Boskoop), with erect habit, small rounded shiny dark purple leaves, and bright pink flowers.
