Main asset
Very dark colour, and narrower habit than most of the deciduous Magnolias, making it less cumbersome in small gardens.
Remarks
Can also be grown in planters.
Hybrid Magnolia obtained in the middle of the last century in the United States, from Magnolia liliiflora 'Nigra' x M. stellata 'Rosea'. Deciduous upright shrub, blooming from its young age in large narrow tulip-shaped flowers ∅ 10-15 cm, purple and slightly fragrant.
