Main asset

Native tree, thermophilic, drought resistant, fairly resistant to forest fires.

Remarks

Very good longevity (> 500 years), the major tree of the Mediterranean primary forest. Good tree in anticipation of global warming. Used in truffle growing.

Tall native Oak, present in coastal zones and Mediterranean climate. The young shoots, as well as the underside of the leaves, are covered with soft hair, limiting water loss (adaptation to drought). The leaves are marcescent and do not fall until spring when the new leaves begin to grow.
