Small very strong shrub, easy to grow in a border or low hedge, ball-shaped, in the ground as in pot.
Remarks
Prune slightly to keep a compact form at the end of winter, mulch the first years in cold regions.
Evergreen shrub of Japanese origin, compact rounded habit, slow growth. The young, oval, thorny leaves are clear green margined with yellow, then cream, with a yellowish reverse. In September appear bouquets of small white tubular flowers, very fragrant.
