The well known solid common Hornbeam, with autumn color in addition.

Prune in March just before bud break, and if necessary in early summer

This Hornbeam has a similar growth like the type. In autumn, from late September to October, the leaves turn in different shades of bright red and orange, bright as Liquidambar and Maples. These colors normally persist until mid November, then the leaves turn brown (marcescent).
