Gold medal and rewarded as the "Plantarium 2006 Best Innovation". It was the first time that the selection committee of this dutch exhibition awarded the best innovation trophy to a foreigner. Coming from Japan, this plant was obtained in 1990 as the result of a selection program carried out by Dr MASATO YOKOI. Dark purple foliage exceptional in full summer. Unlike most plants with similarly coloured foliage, the purple colour of this albizzia does not fade away. On the contrary, it grows more intense and enhance the refined and graphic lines of the leaves. The green young shoots harmoniously contrast with the purple throughout the season as they unfold themselves like young fern fronds.Under the sunrays, the green and purple compete in a play of light ans shade. Light red flowers. A very attractiv novelty destined for a nice future.
